After lunch, we were all ready to finish the last leg of the Camino! It is such a relief to sit down after walking for so long to start the day, but it sucks once you have to leave. All your muscles get warmed up while walking, and then once you sit down at lunch all your muscles cool down. So it takes awhile to get warmed up again.
The rest of the walk was either flat or downhill. I talked to Kraygen about how my feet were really starting to hurt and how it took him until the fourth day to really get into the groove of walking everyday. So now it's over haha.
Everyone kept telling me that I had to get a blister to officially join the club, and I succeeded with two on my left pinky toe and one on my right pinky toe.
Just outside of San Marcos, we came across a big monument that had to do with a few Popes who had also completed the walk. It was very big and artistic. Very impressive!
We crossed a bridge and was officially in Santiago de Compostela! The city is pretty large and was a tease because the cathedral is on the complete other side of town. Our spirits were so high when we entered the city, but we didn't know we had 4 km left. Our bodies were definitely ready to stop and with us walking through the whole city, there were a few curse words muttered under breaths hoping we were getting closer! But once we arrived at the Cathedral we were all in awe!

Congrats to everyone! What a great adventure & a lot of hard work to make it to Santiago!
